Hoop & Huggie Size Guide
Hoops are measured by diameter. Huggies are the smallest hoops, made to hold close to the lobe. Larger hoops swing a little and frame the face.
01
Inner and Outer Diameter
Inner diameter is measured across the inside of the hoop. Outer diameter is measured across the outside, so it includes the thickness of the metal.
A thick hoop with a 15 mm outer diameter will sit closer to the ear than a fine hoop of the same size. Check the product page to see which measurement is given.

Hoop & Huggie Sizes
| Style | Diameter (mm) | How it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Huggie | 8 – 12 | Wraps closely around the lobe |
| Small hoop | 13 – 20 | Rests just below the lobe |
| Medium hoop | 21 – 35 | Falls between the lobe and the jaw |
| Large hoop | 36 – 50 | Reaches towards the line of the jaw |
| Statement hoop | 50 and above | At or below the jaw |

How to Measure at Home
Step 01
Stand in front of a mirror with a millimetre ruler and place the end of the ruler at the piercing.
Step 02 — Huggies
Measure from the piercing to the lower edge of the lobe. Add 2–3 mm so the hoop does not press. This is your huggie diameter.
Step 02 — Larger hoops
Let the ruler hang straight down and note where you would like the hoop to end.
If you own a pair that fits well, lay one flat and measure across the inside.
Before You Choose Your Size
Things to Consider
Second and third piercings
Higher piercings sit on firmer cartilage or the upper lobe. Small huggies of 6–8 mm usually suit them best.
Thickness
Fine hoops feel light and understated. A thicker hoop reads larger than its diameter suggests.
Stacking
When wearing several hoops, choose sizes that step up gradually from the top piercing down.
Weight
Large hoops in solid gold carry real weight. A lighter, hollow or open profile is more comfortable for long wear.
